product certification

Whatever they say, the goal of any business is profit.
Business owners (managers) often think about how to improve their enterprise operations (make them more efficient), which development strategy to choose, which new sales channels to develop, etc. But these global issues may remain unresolved if the quality of goods or services is low (winning in the competitive struggle will be practically impossible). The global experience of enterprises with different fields of activity has shown the need to use QMS as the basis for successful organizational operations. A special commission in the International Organization for Standardization developed ISO 9000 standards (management systems certification), which describe the main requirements for implementing (improving existing) quality management systems in a company.

Deming Cycle

Through quality QMS implementation, the management (business owners, top managers, department heads, etc.) of the organization uses the "Deming Cycle" in its work, achieving guaranteed improvement of business processes (profit growth, increased competitiveness, increased supplier and employee loyalty, etc.). The Deming Cycle consists of the following actions: Plan - Do - Study - Act.

  1. Plan. Includes conducting research and making plans to improve operations at the enterprise/organization. Also identifying existing problems, analyzing solutions, and planning measures.
  2. Do. Planned actions are carried out in a specific area of work
  3. Study. Actions and results obtained are monitored.
  4. Act. Changes are implemented or cancelled depending on the results obtained.

When management makes a strategic decision to implement and build the company's operations according to QMS principles, preparation and implementation of quality standards begins (staff training, development of documents, instructions specifying the procedure for QMS implementation, optimization of production processes, etc.).

The main reason for product defects is incorrect employee actions (raw material procurement, production, storage, transportation, etc.). To eliminate the appearance of defects, it is necessary to describe the procedure for producing high-quality products, create instructions for staff, and monitor (control) compliance with these requirements.

Main QMS Principles Considered When Creating the ISO 9001 Standard

  1. Creating products whose quality will meet customer expectations.
  2. Leadership of the management team. Managers set a unified direction, establish goals, and shape the internal environment of the organization.
  3. Employee responsibility - QMS depends on every person working in the organization, since staff is an integral part of the organization, developer and user of QMS standards. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct ISO standards training (through engaged experts, internal inspections (audits), consulting companies, etc.).
  4. Process approach. The organization's activity is a process, i.e., a set of actions that are interconnected, interacting, and interdependent.
  5. Systematic approach to management means that any management decisions must consider the interconnection of processes.
  6. Working on continuous improvement. For development and competitive struggle, the organization must work on improving business processes.
  7. Decisions are made based on factual data. Only on the basis of objective, truthful data can any decisions be made in the company.
  8. Mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and customers can play a key role in successful and effective business management.
